Winter is a great time to both reflect and gather some momentum. Here are a few highlights of what we’ve been up to in January.
Events we spoke at
Our Head of Design Research Imeh Akpan and Antony Heljula our Innovation Director spoke at a Digital Leaders webinar on Generative AI and how it will change the way you work.
Learning together
Once a month on a Thursday, our Communities of Practice come together to learn from each other and share work.
Some of our Design researchers Lizzie Johnsen and Amber Polley co-led an internal training session around how to do research on sensitive topics and we’ll write up some highlights soon.
We also have a monthly climate related session which was kicked off by Harriet Pugh, one of our Design Leads. This month, Senior Design Researcher Hannah Zafiropoulous shared her work on the Yorkshire’s Citizens’ Assembly on climate change. This session was open to everyone at TPXimpact outside of the Design team which meant the questions were as much about the method as the context.
Our Design Academy
Our first cohort of Design Academy Graduates have started working with designers on client projects which is really exciting. I’m sure Tash Willcocks who Heads up that programme will write something about their experience in the next few months.
I did a tally and our 100+ designers worked on over 20 client projects this past month. This is a mix of central government, local government, third sector and private sector work. If you’d like to talk to us about working with you, get in touch with Ben Holliday our Chief Design Officer.
